TAMWORTH CHRISTMAS LIGHTS SWITCH ON

This weekend we shall be in attendance at the Tamworth Christmas Lights Switch On in the Castle Grounds, providing both a high-visibility presence in addition to a stall where children can try on Police uniform & equipment and have their fingerprint turned in to a badge.

After poor weather cancelled last year's event, this one looks set to make up for it…

📍Saturday 29 November 2025, 12pm-6pm (lights switch on at 5pm)

📍This is a free event - no pre-booking or tickets are required.

🌟Featuring family attractions, live performances, walkabout entertainment, and the main Christmas lights switch-on event, which will take place at 5pm on Castle Car Park. The switch-on will be accompanied by live music, a festive countdown, snow machines and projections on the castle. 

🎄Along Holloway, Barkers Fun Fair are back with traditional family-friendly attractions and rides, plus food stalls nearby.

Ankerside will also host Bert & Gerts Christmas market and free Christmas craft activities throughout the day. Amington Brass band will also be playing there 11am-1pm.

🎅Children will be able to visit Santa’s Grotto in the Castle Grounds, where they can meet Santa in a magical Christmas setting. (Small fee applies, must be pre-booked).

🎭During the day a community stage will host performances from local schools, dance academies, choirs and community organisations, showcasing local talent and promoting a strong sense of community pride.

🏰Tamworth Castle will also be illuminated with a projection in partnership with New Urban Era (NUE). This spectacular digital art display features animations created by South Staffordshire College, local schools, and community arts groups.
